What a wedding photo QR code does
Your guests take hundreds of photos and videos on the day, and most of them never reach you. They stay on phones, get lost in group chats or arrive months later as compressed copies.
A QR code fixes the first step: it takes every guest straight to one upload page. The page behind the code decides the rest: whether guests need an app or an account, whether videos fit, and whether you get the original files back.
How it works with Pixworthy
- Create your album with your names and date. Your guest link and QR code are ready straight away.
- Download a print-ready card, poster or table tent and put it on the tables, the bar and the entrance.
- Guests scan with their phone camera, pick photos or videos and upload. Uploads start as soon as they choose files.
- After the party you download the whole album as one ZIP, with every original file intact.

What you can print
Everything comes from your album, ready to print at actual size:
- The QR code on its own, as PNG or SVG, for your own invitation or stationery design.
- An A6 card for each table.
- An A4 or A5 poster for the entrance, the bar or the photo booth.
- A folding table tent, optionally with a photo idea on it. Print a set with a different idea on each table, such as "the best dance move" or "a selfie with the couple".
A QR code to a shared folder or a real guest album?
You can point a free QR code at a Google Drive or Google Photos folder. It works, but guests run into more friction. A quick comparison:
| QR code to a shared Drive or Photos folder | Pixworthy guest album | |
|---|---|---|
| Guest needs an account | Depends on the service and its sharing settings | No account, no app |
| Photo and video quality | Depends on each guest's settings | Original files, untouched |
| Weak venue Wi-Fi | Failed uploads often have to be restarted | Uploads pause and carry on when the connection is back |
| Guest page language | The guest's Google language | 7 languages, guests can switch |
| Photos on a screen at the party | Not built in | Live wall with approved photos |
| Privacy | Anyone with the link can usually see everything | Optional password, and you choose whether guests see each other's uploads |
Tips for placing your QR code
- Put a card on every table, plus one at the bar and the entrance. Guests upload when the code is in front of them.
- Print the short web address under the code, for the odd phone that will not scan.
- Use dark on light and do not print the code smaller than a few centimetres. The A6 card is already the right size.
- Ask the MC or the DJ to mention it after the ceremony and during the party. A spoken reminder brings in the most photos.
- Using a guest password? Include it in the QR code, so guests who scan never have to type it.
- Test the printed card with two or three different phones before the day.

Questions
Do guests need an app to upload with the QR code?
No. Guests scan the code with their phone camera or open the link in their browser, choose photos or videos and upload. They only need a password if you set one.
Can guests upload videos too?
Yes. Photos and videos are both supported, including common phone formats such as JPEG, HEIC, MP4 and MOV. The maximum file size depends on your plan, and there is no limit on video length.
What happens if the Wi-Fi at the venue is bad?
Uploads pause when the connection drops and carry on when it is back. Files that already arrived are never sent twice. Guests can also scan the code again after the wedding while the album still accepts uploads.
Can I print the QR code myself?
Yes. Download the QR code as PNG or SVG, or a ready-made A6 card, A4 or A5 poster or folding table tent, and print it at home or at a print shop.
Does the QR code keep working if we upgrade our plan?
Yes. Upgrading keeps the same album, guest link and QR code, so cards you have already printed keep working.
